HON. PAUL J. TONNA

The Honorable Paul Jude Tonna serves as Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs for American Health Group.
Mr. Tonna is the managing partner of Praxis Public Relations, Inc., a NY Metro-based business/ healthcare consulting and government relations company. Mr. Tonna has over 30 years of health care experience serving as a hospital administrator in education and training /human resources at St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY; CEO of Professional Evaluation Medical Group, a NY Metro-based preventative medical screening service; and currently engaged as a consultant for Northwell Health System, NY.
Mr. Tonna has served as an elected official from 1994 to present. He was a Suffolk County, NY legislator and for three years led the legislative branch as its presiding officer. Currently he holds the elected office of Chairman of the South Huntington Water District.
Paul is a former adjunct professor at St. John’s University, New York City. He served as chairman, Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and vice chairman of the Long Island Regional Planning Council. Mr. Tonna is an active member of many nonprofit boards including The Advanced Energy Research & Technology Center at Stony Brook University. He also serves as the executive director of the Suffolk County Village Officials Association (SCVOA), the United States Green Building Council-Long Island Chapter (USGBC-LI), and Molloy College’s Energeia Partnership. Mr. Tonna is a member of Flushing National Bank Board of Advisors.
Mr. Tonna earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University, a master’s degree from Immaculate Conception Seminary (New York) and conducted doctoral studies at Fordham University, NY.
